When picking out your domain names the first thing is to buy your company name and any variations of your name to protect it from your competition, you don't want them to have a similar name that would confuse your potential clients. If your company name is long or difficult, The chances of finding a domain that is not already registered is close to impossible.

It's helpful to have your most important keyword in your URL.Try to buy a “.com” domain. Stay away from domains like . net, . info and .us. You can get one of these domains but the downside is you will lose business and links to the . com domain. Your best bet is to turn to the after market at Sedo, eBay, Moniker or Godaddy. You don’t have to spend a lot. You can get great domains for under $1000. You can try contacting owners of domains you find searching in Google. Look up Whois directory to find the owner.

Do not cheap out. I find it funny that people will spend a lot of money on furniture, computers. a fancy chair or even a vacation, yet they won't spend more

than $10.00 for a domain name. No wonder so many businesses struggle online.
